REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES

Please remember in your prayers the sick of our Congregation, as well as the Faithful Departed.

Fellowship and Educational Opportunities

Bible Study is offered each Wednesday beginning at 12:00 Noon.  Other adult education seminars and New Member Classes are held at specifically noted times.  The Church also offers several fellowship events throughout the year, such as dinners, rummage sales, and the like, as well as weekly Fellowship following Worship.

Choir

The Chancel Choir rehearses in the Choir Room Sunday mornings before Worship beginning at 9:20. All are welcome to join our Choir.

Special Worship Services

Beginning at Advent, the Church calendar has many special Worship Services.  Advent devotionals by Church families are read while lighting the Advent Wreath.  The Children's Christmas Program is held on the Sunday prior to Christmas.  The Traditional Candlelight Christmas Eve Service is celebrated at 6:30 PM.  Worship is celebrated at 10:00 PM Christmas Eve, with the opportunity to receive Holy Communion.  Lent beings with a 7:30 Service on Ash Wednesday evening.  To usher in Holy Week, we conduct a special Palm Processional on Palm Sunday.  An evening Maundy Thursday Worship with Holy Communion, and a Good Friday afternoon Service will help prepare us for the glorious Feast of Easter.  Easter Sunrise Worship is celebrated at 6:30 AM (usually held outdoors) followed by a continental breakfast and Easter Worship at 10:00 AM.

Chancel Flowers

Do you want to remember a loved one?  Maybe you want to honor a special person or day, such as a birth, birthday, marriage, or anniversary.  Chancel flowers are a way to express your thoughts and the cost is just $25.00 for two vases.  You can take the flowers with you after Worship, or the Board of Deacons will see that they are distributed to a Church Member who is ill or shut-in.  A sign-up chart is located on the door to Fellowship Hall.  You can place your donation in the offering plate and mark the envelope "Flower Fund."   If you have any questions, please call the Church Office during regularly scheduled office hours.

Church Officers

The laity play a very important role in governing the Church.  Greeters welcome those in attendance at the front door, and they will be happy to assist you.  Our Elders assist at Worship, serve Holy Communion, and lead the Church as members of The Session and its committees.

The Friendship Register

During Worship, Members and friends are invited to pass the Friendship Register from the end of the pews, sign their names, and then pass them back. Visitors are encouraged to include their address and telephone number.

Church School

Pre-school through Sixth Grade children are invited and encouraged to attend Worship with their parents and/or family.  Following the weekly Children's Sermon, these children are dismissed to the Church School classes.  Pre-registration is not required for Church School.  The children present special programs at Christmas and again in the Spring/Summer.  After the Spring/Summer Children's Program, Church School does not meet during the Summer months.  Volunteers are needed to help each week with Church School.  A sign-up sheet is provided in the Church foyer.

Acolytes

Each Sunday will feature two young people chosen from the Congregation that morning.  The Program continues to emphasize to the Congregation the importance of the open Bible and the lighting of the candles in our Presbyterian Worship Service.  The Committee thanks all who take part.

Food for the Needy Sunday

"Truly I tell you:  Just as you did it to one of the least of these,  you did it unto Me."

Please bring your non-perishable food items to Worship on the First Sunday of each month.

Place your donations in the baskets provided in the downstairs hallway.

The Offering

True stewardship is not based on the Church's need for money, but on our need to give back to God the first fruits of His blessings.

The Offering each Sunday supports the ongoing ministry of the Church.  Members and friends can obtain envelopes for their pledges to the General (Operating) Fund.  From time to time, special envelopes are placed in the Bulletin for congregational use.
